logitech g815 custom keycaps
Hi, I am looking at buying a G815 but need to know if the keycaps can be replaced, even if just the default ones from Logitech direct.

If you think you are buying G815 or G915 as a premium product, you are mistaken. There are times I kinda miss the key travel and loudness of the Rosewill RK9000V2 (Cherry MX Blue) this replaced, but overall it's still a really enjoyable keyboard. I am coming from using a SteelSeriesApex M800 which was great, with quiet, low-profile keys, but the proprietry keyswitches, and keycaps do not have replacements, several keys have fallen off and I can't fix it, which for a £150 keyboard isn't great.

The keyboard is not entirely aluminium. Especially if you like relatively minimal, low profile boards with shallow key travel. Logitech made a big mistake, IMHO, with their GL switches, they are custom made by Kailh based on the Choc with some modifications, the first one and most important one is less travel, for better of for worst, but that's not the mistake I'm talking about.The mistake is the second modification from the regular Choc, the key mount is different from all other Chocs... if/when aftermarket keycaps start showing up for Choc, they won't fit the logitech's ♂️.

so apparently you can buy keycaps for the kailh switches and then modify the keycaps slightly and then they will fit then. logitech took the kailh switches, modified them slightly, so no other keycaps fit and that was the only change they did, so now they call them their own switches.
